#2. You are accidentally locked overnight in a library. How do you react? Take it in stride. It's just what would happen. Panic -- I'm allergic to dust! It's a good opportunity to finish my homework. Appreciate my good luck, and spend the night reading. Libraries. Pah. Why couldn't I get stuck somewhere good? Reflect that this will make a good story to tell people later. Fail to notice. I can pine as well in a library as anywhere else. Break a window and leave. No biggie. Settle in for the night. Sleeping on floors doesn't bug me. Locate the ghost stories, and read until I start scaring myself.
#3. You are accosted in a dark alley by a large, scary man. He blocks your way and demands money. What do you do now? Beat him up. I'll give him large and scary. Surrender meekly. Suffer an asthma attack. And claustrophobia. And possibly heart failure. Tell him he's welcome to search my pockets. I'm broke. Lecture him. He'll give way before my fearsome rhetoric. Attempt to reason with him. Sweet-talk my way out of the situation. Make a break for the nearest police station. Take him on, if I'm feeling okay on my feet.
#4. What's most prominent on your desk? My houseplant. Unfinished love letters. Used glassware. Dents and scratches, mostly. I have a desk? Books and papers. Books and papers and books and papers and books... I keep it cleared off. My homework, and various over-the-counter medications.
#5. What's your usual reading material? Everything. Romantic poetry. Newspapers. Medical thrillers. Inflammatory pamphlets. Things with happy endings. World history, but I'll read anything. That is NOT Playboy under my bed. Shut up. *shrug* I'd rather be out somewhere.
#6. Where do you live these days? In a garret. In a fairly nice place. In close proximity to a decent cafe. Here and there.
#7. What best describes your consuming interest? Love. Friendship. Progress. Justice. Fun and excitement. Education. Beauty. Perpetually mad at me.
#8. Red is... ...a world about to dawn. ...the color of desire. ...much maligned by panicky bourgeois. ...suggestive of the exotic orient. ...a helpful preventative for smallpox. ...not as evil as green. ...smashing on you, chérie. ...at the opposite end of the spectrum from violet. ...damn hard to wash out of a white shirt. ...back in fashion, they tell me.
#9. So, introduce me to your lady friend. Musichetta. Virginie. Athène. Ursula. Floréal. Or Cleopatra. Or something. Victoire. Patria. ...that's my sister. ...which one?
#10. Pick a second language. (You're a French boy, remember.) English. Italian. Polish. Greek. *ahem* Latin. Bad French. I don't have the time.
#11. How do you set about accomplishing something? With an initial burst of enthusiasm. Straightforwardly, allowing nothing to get in my way. I just buckle down and do it. Carefully and meticulously. In between distractions and bouts of daydreaming. Fully prepared for something to go wrong. I start out a little nervous, but then I usually start to have fun. Headlong. Planning is optional. With confidence, as long as it's something I'm interested in. You've got to be kidding.
#12. And finally, what do you daydream about? New and amazing inventions. Beautiful women. (Or men, as the case may be.) Winning the lottery. Severely maiming a corrupt politician or three. World peace -- and a decent apartment. Finding a cure for cancer. Living happily ever after. Singlehandedly changing the world. Enjolras. My one true love.
